Life-Saving Missions & Gratitude: EDO’s September Medical Mission Honored by Somaliland’s President

In September, the Excellence Development Organization (EDO) led a transformative medical mission to Somaliland, uniting international volunteers, medical professionals, and local staff in a dedicated effort to advance community healthcare. Throughout the mission, EDO teams conducted essential surgeries, hands-on training workshops, and equipment donations across major hospitals in the region.

A highlight of this mission was the personal visit and heartfelt thanks from the President of Somaliland, who acknowledged EDO’s ongoing impact on the nation’s healthcare system and praised the collaborative spirit of volunteers and local caregivers. The President’s visit underscored the importance of these life-saving efforts and the critical role of partnerships in reaching communities in need.

This mission featured skill-building sessions for local staff, on-the-job mentoring within surgical theaters, and the distribution of much-needed medical supplies. Together with governmental support, EDO’s work is helping to deliver sustainable healthcare progress and renewed hope to Somaliland’s people—further proof that international compassion and local leadership can change lives.
